Lucia was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, California. After graduating from North Tahoe High School in 2003, she moved to the Bay Area to attend The University of California, Berkeley. With hopes of eventually attending Law School, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. During her third year, she enrolled in her first City Planning course, Introduction to Transportation Planning. By graduation a year later, she had earned a Minor in City Planning and was headed for the University of Texas, Austin. In May of 2009, she earned her MS in Community and Regional Planning with an emphasis in Natural Resources and Environmental Planning. She currently works as a data analyst/database coordinator at a transportation research firm in Austin, Texas. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, reading, playing Classical piano, and spending time with her cat, Simba.
